Our 3-Phase Testing Process
Phase 1: Initial Clinical Interview
During your first appointment, a licensed psychologist will gather your developmental, medical, educational, and psychological history. This session allows us to:
- Request insurance pre-authorization
- Understand the reason for referral
- Choose appropriate testing measures
Bring any prior testing records, IEPs, 504 plans, or medical history to this session.
Phase 2: Testing Sessions
Testing typically lasts 2–6 hours and includes paper-based, verbal, and computerized tasks to assess:
- Attention and focus
- Memory and processing speed
- Executive functioning
- Visual-motor skills
- Emotional functioning and personality structure
You won’t be graded—the goal is to understand your strengths and challenges.
Phase 2.5: Scoring and Report Writing
Your psychologist will analyze the data, interpret results, and compile a comprehensive report that:
- Synthesizes your background and symptoms
- Includes standardized scores and observations
- Provides diagnostic clarity (if appropriate)
- Recommends targeted treatment strategies
Phase 3: Feedback Session
In this final phase, your psychologist will:
- Review results and diagnoses in a clear, jargon-free way
- Provide a written report with actionable next steps
- Discuss treatment, accommodations, or further referrals
- Collaborate with your care team, if requested
Family members are welcome to attend. You’ll have space to ask questions, request edits, and begin planning your path forward.
